The drama unfolded as trainee doctor Jacob Gallagher, played by Joe-Warren Plant, encountered a stabbing victim during his A&E shift.
Without seeing the patient's face, Jacob found a purse and was horrified to realise it belonged to April Windsor, leading him to inform her anxious parents, Marlon Dingle and Rhona Goskirk, portrayed by Mark Charnock and Zoe Henry respectively.
The tension peaked when the surgeon announced the patient had died during surgery, leaving Marlon and Rhona heartbroken. However, upon identifying the body, they were shocked to find it wasn't April after all.
