Coronation Street's Peter Barlow has been embroiled in some of the soap's most scandalous storylines. But actor Chris Gascoyne has really made the character his own since hitting the cobbles in 2000.

Reformed alcoholic Peter led a double life for a period with his fair share of his affairs, having had five wives. It's a different story in Chris' real life though, as the 53-year-old actor from Nottinghamshire has been happily married for 20 years. The Mirror reports the pair met when they went to see their mutual friend Catherine Tate performing at London's Comedy Store.
