Coronation Street star has opened up about her experiences with vitiligo. Taking to Instagram, the 31-year-old actor, who is best known for her role as Katy Armstrong in Corrie, shared the news of her diagnosis with fans.

Vitiligo is a long-term condition which sees pale white patches develop on the skin as a result of a lack of melanin. Posting photos of her skin, Georgia wrote: "Two years ago I noticed two little white patches on my skin that appeared to mirror both sides of my body. Vitiligo. As you can see the pigment on my skin has disappeared. The reason for this happening is still unknown although there are a few factors they think cause it. " She then showed followers how the condition had impacted her skin, adding: "The saddest part?

There is no cure. There are new spots turning up all the time. I try not to let it affect my mind. But it does get me down at times to know I will have this for life. "I just wanted to raise awareness and speak out about it.
