Coronation Street alumni Nicola Thorp became overwhelmed with emotion in her final TalkTV episode before going on maternity leave.

The 35-year-old actress and broadcaster, who is expecting her first child with her actor fiancé Nikesh Patel, hosted her final show on the opinion channel this week ahead of her exciting new arrival.

Nicola, who starred on the Cobbles as Nicola Rubinstein from 2017 to 2019, appeared alongside her co-host Jeremy Kyle on Thursday’s episode of Talk Today and looked tearful as she bid farewell to viewers at the end of the show.

TalkTV’s royal editor Sarah Hewson appeared for the closing moments of the programme to hand Nicola flowers and a baby grow with the Talk Today branding on it.
