Coronation Street star Jodie Prenger has been flooded with supportive messages after sharing an update on her time on the cobbles.
The actress joined the ITV soap as Glenda Shuttleworth back in 2022. She arrived on screen as the 'fun and sassy' sister of George, played by Tony Maudsley, and quickly made herself at home in Weatherfield after years spent as an entertainer on cruise ships.
And making her debut as Glenda fulfilled a dream of Jodie's, who first came to viewers' attention as the winner of the BBC series I'd Do Anything in 2008.
Her family have always been big Corrie fans and even have a link to one of the soap's icons. Getting tearful, Jodie added: "My nan, Terry Doyle, she worshipped Elsie Tanner." Jodie's character has since found herself in one of the most iconic roles of all, bagging herself a job as a barmaid at the Rovers Return.
