Coronation Street has got viewers in a lather over its Simon Barlow's storyline. Fans of the cobbles are saying "it's an outrage" after seeing what happened to Simon.

He was in court on the show for driving after having drinks and taking little Sam Blakeman to school. Fans couldn't believe it when Simon, played by Alex Bain, only got hit with a driving ban, and took to social media to complain.

Nick Tilsley and Leanne Battersby watched on to see what would happen to Simon after he crashed the car from drinking. Someone on Twitter said: "Simon got off lightly there." They wondered, "How is he going to exit then?" Another person said he should be locked up forever.

And someone else wrote: "Simon got a driving ban? Is that it? ! ?" Another fan agreed it was shocking and posted online: "It's an outrage!" There were rumours last year that Alex might leave the show.
