The broadcaster chose to drop its regular output on Friday following the death of Prince Philip. As a result, Coronation Street and Emmerdale did not air on Friday evening, and instead, the channel dedicated their coverage to the Duke of Edinburgh.
Other major TV networks did the same, including the BBC, who was criticised for running mirrored special news programmes on the duke on both BBC One and BBC Two.
