ITV Britain's Got Talent viewers slam 'weird' opening act as judges praise 'genius'

A new series of Britain's Got Talent burst onto our screens on Saturday night (April 20). Fronted by Ant and Dec - who last week said goodbye to Saturday Night Takeaway - it saw the return of judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell and Bruno Tonioli.

The four entertainment bigwigs were ready to search the country for an act worthy of royalty, with the winner of the show winning a spot at the prestigious Royal Variety Performance.

Saturday's show was the first in a weekend double-bill. Kicking off the show was a singing group named Rask AI, who had all four judges in stitches with their performance.

The group used artificial technology to superimpose the judge’s heads onto characters from the hit 2017 film The Greatest Showman.
