ITV has confirmed it will run live and uninterrupted coverage of the late Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral. The coverage of the ceremony, which will take place at Westminster Abbey on Monday September 19 and has been deemed a UK bank holiday, will be preceded by Good Morning Britain, which will give viewers a preview of proceedings.

This will be followed by a documentary chronicling the lead-up to the event, which is expected to be the largest outside broadcast in the corporation's history.

A special programme focusing on the funeral will follow, as well as an extended edition of News At Ten. The entire day's programming, which will run from 6am to midnight, will be broadcast simultaneously on its main channel, its five digital channels as well as the ITV Hub.This will be the first time the broadcaster has done so.

ITV has also confirmed there will be no advertising on any channel throughout the day, with further details of coverage expected to be announced in due course. The broadcaster's announcement comes as other television networks in the UK, including the BBC, continue to adjust their schedules around coverage of the Queen's death.
