A dad says he was left fuming after being told he must pay a £100 fine to leave the Manchester Airport drop-off area. Lee Mellor, 54, was picking his daughter up from Terminal 3 when she returned from a ski trip on Saturday (January 25).
As he was waved towards the multi-storey car park, he spotted his daughter, 25, who was waiting by the drop-off area with all of her gear.
Mr Mellor proceeded to park up at the drop off area to pick his daughter up which took around '20 seconds'. But before he could leave, an airport worker wearing an orange vest, told him he would be charged £100 for using the drop off area to pick someone up. "He had a real smile on his face which really got to me," Mr Mellor said.
Angered, the father from Bolton drove his white Tesla towards the barriers and pressed the call button to speak to an operator who confirmed he would have to pay the £100 fine before he leaves.
