The biggest fixture in Manchester this weekend is tomorrow's Etihad derby, but for the most unusual look no further than FC United's Broadhurst Park, which will host its first-ever competitive European fixture.
The streets around the fan-owned club's smart ground will be livelier than usual just before 3pm today with a couple of hundred fans from Warsaw-based AKS Zly in attendance for the latest fixture in the Fenix Trophy.
FC United joined the competition 10 months ago for its inaugural outing and the UEFA-backed tournament has quickly become a fan favourite.
The Reds are one of eight entrants, all amateur clubs picked for being socially, culturally or historically distinct.
