Residents of a quiet neighbourhood have spoken of their shock after a woman was stabbed in Wigan woodland this morning. Officers received the call from near Amberswood Common around the Platt Bridge area at around 10.10am today, Greater Manchester Police confirmed.
A woman has been taken to hospital following the horrific incident. No further details about her age or identity have been released.
The woman's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, the force added. Police haven't provided any more information about the attack, and no arrests have been made as yet.
