Louis Saha has passionately defended Manchester United playmaker Bruno Fernandes amid question marks over his performance levels and leadership credentials.

Fernandes was appointed club captain by Erik ten Hag this summer after the United manager opted to axe Harry Maguire from that role.

It has been a tough opening to the Premier League season for the Portugal midfielder and his United teammates - with only three points taken from their first two matches.

United were under-par against Wolves albeit they still managed to start their campaign with a win, but Tottenham made them pay for a similarly abject showing on Sunday afternoon.
