The girlfriend of a 23-year-old man tragically killed after his car was ploughed into a pub and went up in flames has paid tribute to her 'kind and loving' boyfriend, and said his death has left her feeling like her 'heart has been ripped out of her body'.
Will Place, who had only recently graduated in sports journalism, died after his Dacia Sandero was smashed into the White Lion pub on York Street in Heywood at around 3:15am on Monday (June 1).
The crash, that occurred after police officers in a patrol car had attempted to stop the vehicle on nearby Bolton Road moments before, then sparked a huge blaze, with fire crews racing to the incident.
Will was tragically pronounced dead by emergency services at the scene.
