Residents have told of their shock after a gunman on a motorbike opened fire on a quiet cul-de-sac in Salford. Police are searching for a shooter, or possible more than one offender, who peppered a home on Queen Street in Little Hulton with bullets on Friday evening.

Images from the scene appear to show three bullet holes in a window of the first-floor flat. Speaking on Saturday, residents told of their shock and confusion.

One, who asked not to be named, said: "We were in town and when we got back police said there had been gunshots. "I've lived here six years and this is a very normal street.

I've got a 12-year-old son. When I answered the door just now he told me to be careful. It's worrying." It's not clear how many people live at the flat or if they were home at the time of the shooting, which took place at 5.55pm.
