Crissy Rock, 63, will be taking on a whole new challenge this February when she steps into the world of musical theatre with an all-star cast for Cruising Through Menopause.
Arriving as a sequel to Menopause the Musical, which has been hailed as the “ultimate girls’ night out”, the show is set to embark on a six-month tour of the UK and Ireland this Spring with Crissy leading the charge.
Menopause the Musical, which first premiered in Orlando, Florida in 2001, sees four women discussing friendship, love and the menopause - all whilst shopping for lingerie at a Bloomingdale's mall sale. This new musical will explore the same four characters' lives five years on, where they will set sail on the high seas with no way of escape.Crissy, who is probably best known for her role as Janey York in Benidorm, told Express.co.uk how excited she was to be going on tour. “I can’t wait,” she said. “Because Covid messed everything up, didn’t it?
We were supposed to do it last year, but then the Covid came. Fingers crossed it’s fine this time - full steam ahead!”She also expressed her gratitude to the show’s producer Robert C Kelly, who has worked with talent including Elaine Paige, Jane McDonald, Joe Longthorne and Beverly Callard over the years.“I’m so pleased with Robert Kelly, you know,” Crissy gushed. “He’s lovely and when I got asked to do it I was like, ‘Oh my god!’ It’s like a real step up.
