George Grierson admits only a proper title challenge can salvage Irvine Meadow’s season.The Medda crashed out of the South Challenge Cup at the hands of minnows Vale of Clyde on Saturday.
The shock 2-1 defeat – their fourth cup exit of the season – leaves them with only the league to play for.Meadow currently sit third in the WoSFL Premier Division, three points behind leaders Darvel with a game in hand.And Grierson insists he and his players owe it the fans to mount a serious title tilt – starting with a win at Beith tomorrow.He said: “Obviously Saturday’s result isn’t acceptable and I carry the can for it.“We let the supporters down as a group and the best way for us to make it up to them is to beat Beith on Saturday and get us back to the top of the league.“For us it’s now 100 per cent about what we do in the league.
