Irvine attempted murder probe after early-morning property blaze

A fire at a property in North Ayrshire is being treated as attempted murder, detectives confirmed last night.The incident happened around 4.20am on Saturday morning at an address in McKinlay Crescent, Irvine.A blaze was started at the property with a 59-year-old woman subsequently taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock.
