Another inmate from Styal women's prison has died. Sarah Boyle, 35, was found collapsed at the jail and died later at Wythenshawe Hospital, the Manchester Evening News can reveal.
She is the latest in a series of deaths at the prison, officially HMP Styal. Sources have indicated her death was self-inflicted.
There have been at least 11 self-inflicted deaths at the jail since 2007 and at least three deaths since December. Today the Prison Service named Ms Boyle and confirmed an investigation would be conducted by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman (PPO). has previously reported that another inmate, Laura Parry, 59, was found dead on Waite Wing on Friday, December 15, last year.
