Investigation launched as cases of hepatitis in Lanarkshire children discovered

A number of Lanarkshire children are currently suffering from hepatitis after an unusual surge in cases amongst youngsters.

Public Health Scotland (PHS) is currently investigating the cause of the outbreak after 11 children in Scotland - aged between one and five - have been admitted to hospital with the illness since March.The cases are "non A to E hepatitis" and children have been taken to hospitals across four health boards including NHS Lanarkshire, Tayside, Greater Glasgow and Clyde, and Fife.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
