The International Space Station (ISS) will be visible in the night skies over the UK tonight. The ISS orbits our planet at a height of around 400km, meaning the space station makes around 16 trips around Earth every single day.
It’s regularly visible from the UK, although not at the most sociable times. NASA explained: “All sightings will occur within a few hours before or after sunrise or sunset. "This is the optimum viewing period as the sun reflects off the space station and contrasts against the darker sky.” Tonight, the ISS will be visible at 10:29pm, as well as at 00:06am in the early hours of tomorrow.
