Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech, accusing him of faking an injury to avoid playing in a friendly, as he explained why the star player was left out of the squad for World Cup qualifiers this week.
Ziyech was a surprise omission from the squad for matches against Sudan and Guinea, given that he has recovered from a shoulder injury and came off the bench for Chelsea against Arsenal in the Premier League on 22 August.
However, Halihodzic says he has left out the 28-year-old for past grievances, dating back to his attitude in friendlies against Ghana and Burkina Faso in June.
The 69-year-old Bosnian, who has managed the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Dinamo Zagreb, Ivory Coast and Japan in the past, was left fuming with Ziyech, who he felt refused to.
