Inter Milan's latest accounts have shown that they spent a club record €74m (£66.75m) on Romelu Lukaku last summer. The Italian side purchased the Belgian after he had fallen out of favour at Manchester United despite spending just two years at Old Trafford.
Lukaku was signed for £75m and United were keen to recoup the entirety of that fee as they sought around £80m for the 27-year-old.
They announced that a fee of up to £73.9m had been accepted for the striker, but Inter's accounts show that it was around £7m less.
Lukaku has proved to be a success in Serie A, scoring 29 times for Antonio Conte's side in all competitions. The striker went AWOL last summer as he looked to force through a switch to the San Siro.
