A fraudster who flew out of Manchester Airport to escape justice after stealing £150,000 from her employer remains on the run. 'Greedy' conwoman Donna Wells stole the huge sum from the charity where she worked.
She was found out and two days before she was due to face justice in court, she boarded a flight to Turkey. Now eight months later, she is still at large, the Liverpool Echo reported.
A warrant was previously issued for her arrest, and she was sentenced to four years in prison in her absence. Her case was brought back before Liverpool Crown Court this week, as prosecutors sought to claw back her ill-gotten gains. An investigation revealed that Wells, who celebrated her 41st birthday at large earlier this week, has assets totalling £5,905.44 which can be seized.
