The mum of murdered schoolboy Reece Tansey today told of her heartache after his killers were jailed. Laura Tansey said her 15-year-old son - stabbed to death in Bolton - was "simply our world".

Reece's family said they are "devastated beyond belief" and "instead of planning his birthday, they were preparing his funeral".
The statement read out at Manchester Crown Court said: "Reece was our 15-year-old son, he made us smile, he made us laugh, he made us tear our hair out at times, a typical teenage lad, but he was ours. "Reece was fiercely protective of his mum and little brother, and saw himself as the man of the house.
