A nuclear bunker which is steeped in history has come up for grabs - and the rare opportunity has attracted an array of interest online.
The Royal Observer Corps' bunker was built in the 1950s post-war, and is one of only 1,500 bunkers ever built. Buried 14 foot underground in the village of Wormhill near Buxton on the edge of the Peak District, the bunker is described as being 'in excellent condition, clean and dry' along with some 'interesting original items' that still remain - and an 'unused toilet'.
SDL Property Auctions are advertising the property for sale on Rightmove with a guide price of £15,000, with the bunker set to go to an online auction on September 26.
The listing reads: "Fantastic opportunity to buy a piece of past war British history. The once in a generation opportunity is to buy a ROC Nuclear Bunker otherwise known as A Royal Observer post."
