Three new towers have topped out in Manchester. And while that might sound like nothing new in the ever-growing city centre, there’s a twist.
The three skyscrapers in Red Bank represent one of the largest affordable housing projects completed in the city ‘in recent years’, according to developers, with 128 affordable properties part of a huge masterplan to shake-up an unloved corner of town.
That’s known as Victoria North. The huge scheme will create 15,000 homes over the next decade in a huge tract of land from Angel Meadow up to Collyhurst, which will also see a new park and high streets built.
The first phase of the project will see 4,800 homes constructed in the Red Bank part of the city centre.
