An 'industrial scale' cannabis farm packed with plants worth £500,000 - and two quails - were found in a town centre police raid, GMP revealed today.
The small birds were later handed over to the RSPCA to be found new homes - away from drugs. The force revealed officers acting on intelligence swooped on an address on Rock Street in Oldham town centre on Wednesday morning. In a statement on Saturday, GMP said: "600 plants were found inside with officers believing the grow to be worth an estimated street value of £500,000. "After further inspection of the address, two quails were also found.
The two birds were seized by police and handed over to the RSPCA to be re-homed." No arrests have been made and enquires are ongoing.
