With the late Queen's Elizabeth's first year anniversary of her death tomorrow, the royal family and people up and down the country will be reflecting on the beloved former monarch who reigned Britain for 70 years.According to a senior clergyman who spent time with Her Majesty at Balmoral in her final days, the Queen passed away with peacefully and with "no regrets" on September 8 last year.The nation was left devastated by the news of her death and senior members of the royal family raced to be at her beside as she slipped away.Now, just a year on, a senior churchman has revealed more about the late monarch's final moments in the day before she died at the age of 96.The Right Reverend Dr Iain Greenshields described her as frail but “mentally sharp” and eager to talk about her father - King George VI.

He told MailOnline: “‘It would be normal for a Moderator to talk about matters of faith but I was very interested in how much she wanted to talk about her own. "It was her Platinum Jubilee year and so she was looking back.

She had remarkable recall. She had no regrets and was very much at peace. "She also mentioned her father - George VI - and the great influence his faith had on her.” Dr Greenshields admits he had been surprised to still be carrying out his visit after finding the Queen frailer than before.

However, she had been determined for him to be there in order to deliver the sermon he was due to preach at Crathie Church.During his three nights there, he said there were just six members at dinner which included Sophie Wessex, the Princess Royal and her husband, Commander Sir Timothy Laurence, John Warren, the Queen’s horse trainer and racing manager, and the Queen herself.The Queen is said to have opened up to the
