Sir Rod Stewart only turned 80 on Friday but has been celebrating his big birthday for weeks. The Celtic-daft star and his family jetted out to a swanky resort in the Caribbean to kick off the celebrations which, of course, have been Celtic themed.His son Alastair, 19, took to Instagram over the weekend to share a snap of his dad's incredible cake which incorporated all his favourite things.Aside from the gold '80' and the sparklers, the cake was emblazoned with green and white hoops and the Celtic crest - and also some very fitting green and gold leopard print.Also on top of the cake was a Scotland flag which nodded to Rod's Scottish roots and a gold cup which read: 'Cockney Scot'.And toward the bottom of the cake hinted to Rod's career with some musical notes and vinyl records.Elsewhere on Instagram, Penny shared a snap of her and Rod cuddled up on a boat saying that it was her favourite part of their trip.Rod went all out and hired a 288ft vessel, which features nine suites, for his guests, as well as a beauty salon, a gym, a Hammam, a swimming pool and a helipad.The birthday party, which is lasting over a week, is reported to be costing Rod up to £2.5 million.It's thought up to 14 guests are attending the exclusive do.Earlier last week, Rod shared a snap online where he smiled for the camera surrounded by his nearest and dearest on the plush yacht.

Rod's wife Penny Lancaster, 53, also sported a Celtic top, paired with tight white shorts and a white cap.
