It was the Queen’s 95th birthday this week, and the first one many years that she did not have her husband, the late Prince Philip, by her side.

The Duke of Edinburgh passed away on 9 April, at the age of 99, and his death has left “a huge void” in her life, revealed her son Prince Andrew.

But it has now emerged that Prince Philip was a true romantic, and used to give his wife the sweetest of gestures on the morning of her birthdays.
