Inside Love Island's new villa - from luxury pool to huge firepit as launch nears

Love Island 2022 is weeks away from kicking off and the villa is nearing completion.The original villa was sold in March for a whopping €3m (£2.57m) and the new and improved villa, located in Majorca, is almost ready for the latest set of singletons.New images have allowed fans to get their first glimpse of the six-bedroom mansion which is receiving its finishing touches.The infamous fire pit, which is the centre of all things drama, has made a triumphant return and will be the place where couples gather for tense eliminations and nail-biting recoupling's.Aerial shots of the luxury pad show a 20m swimming pool which is surrounded by dark wooden decking.It also boasts an outdoor kitchen and plenty of daybeds where this year's islanders can relax and soak up the Spanish sun.This year, the villa is located at the foot of a large hill and surrounded by fields, meaning the islanders will have total privacy during their romantic getaway.The shots from the Spanish villa show members of the crew still on site, suggesting the final product isn't quite there yet.Scaffolding still remains around the edges of the property but it seems the plush new pad will embody a more rustic charm than shown in previous years.Season one and two of the popular ITV dating show were filmed at a villa in Majorca's Santanyi region before being moved to the north-east part of the island, Sant Llorenç des Cardassar.The old villa in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar housed contestants for five years, but it was revealed earlier this year that bosses were on the lookout for a new space in a bid to "enhance the show."Laura Whitmore is set to return as this year's host after signing a whopping £500,000 deal back in March.The 37-year-old will return alongside.
