Inside Love Island's Davide and Ekin-Su's break-up as they look to the future: 'We had a lot of stress and pressure'
ok.co.ukLove Island's Davide Sanclimenti has claimed that he never actually split up with girlfriend Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, despite releasing a statement in June saying that they had.
They went on to reunite, with Ekin-Su and her family joining Davide and his family in Italy for Christmas, before he and Ekin embarked on a skiing trip together to celebrate his birthday.
Speaking of their brief breakup, Davide exclusively told OK!: "When we 'split' we were still speaking.To be honest, we never really broke up - we were always keeping in touch. "But I think looking back now, I think the break helped both of us to understand each other more.
We are more understanding of each other. "It was probably for the best that we broke up. We came out of a TV show, we had a lot of stress and pressure from the public - which is really hard when you're in a relationship. "But it's helped us get to know each other better, and know what the other one wants and needs, so it's definitely better now." When he announced the split in June, Davide took to his Instagram stories, writing: "@ekinsuofficial &I are no longer together. "I am grateful for the memories and opportunities we shared together and I wish her nothing but the best. "I would like for everybody to respect this decision during this difficult time, I will continue to support Ekin in anyway possible," the star added.
