Announcing the news on social media on Tuesday, 19 March, the TV personality paid tribute to her sibling, calling her “the sweetest, kindest, the most sensitive and vulnerable” person.
Karen was Kris’ only sister and they spent their childhood together in sunny San Diego. After their parents divorced, the pair were raised by their mum Mary Jo – who is often seen on The Kardashians.
Despite her famous family’s time on screen, Karen decided to stay out of the spotlight and worked as a part-time nurse. It's thought she had a tricky relationship with Kris, and in 2013 Karen told RadarOnline: “You know what drives Kris?
Power, power, power and money. It's called wanting power, Gucci purses, Bentleys.” Elsewhere, she said that she was upset because she claimed Kris wouldn't answer her calls or call her back.
