Dieter, who died over the weekend aged 45, revealed the pair didn't speak for almost 20 years after he left the show back in 1996.
During their soap hey day, they played one of the most adorable couples on TV. in one of the most memorable scenes, Angel was left in a wheelchair shortly before her wedding and despite fears she would never walk again, struggled to her feet to get herself down the aisle to marry her man.
However, Angel and Shane's happiness was short-lived as Dieter's character contracted septicaemia and died - leaving his wife heartbroken.
