Inside Celebrity Homes: Clodagh McKenna’s 300-year-old manor cottage at Downton Abbey

Clodagh McKenna is certainly the Lady of the Manor, her hubby’s family owns the actual castle where Downton Abbey was filmed.

Given the chance we’d pack up our bags to go live our own Crawley dream life inside the manor. However, the chef lives a simpler life with her beau, Harry Herbert, in a 300-year-old ‘cottage’ on the impressive grounds of Highclere Castle.

Harry also just so happens to be Queen Elizabeth’s godson, and the home was gifted to him by his father Henry Herbert, the 7th Earl of Carnarvon.

Unsurprisingly their home is not your usual idea of a cottage and boosts a mighty kitchen and lavish kitchen garden, where the Irish chef grows all the produce she needs for her rustic recipes.
