Amanda Holden has recalled her terrifying near death experience as she reveals that she is very much aware of her own mortality. The Britain's Got Talent Judge, who will return to screens this weekend for the latest season of the ITV show, has recounted the moment her heart stopped beating for an entire 40 seconds while she was giving birth to her daughter. The mum-of-two endured a severe bleed back in 2012 when delivering her youngest daughter Hollie which saw her slip into a coma and caused her heart to temporarily stop.Amanda, 54, opens up about the scary moment in her 2013 autobiography 'No Holding Back' as she revealed she had begged her husband, Chris Hughes, to save her.The talent judge wrote: "Unbeknown to everyone, my placenta had attached itself to my bladder, and when they lifted it out, it snagged a large artery and ruptured it.

I had haemorrhaged and was bleeding to death."After becoming a parent, Amanda admits she has gotten really good at being aware of her own mortality, even more so after her famous pals Davina McCall and Heart Radio co-host Jamie Theakston have recently had their own health scares.Theakston, 54, has only just made his way back to their daily show after a three-month absence due to a terrifying throat cancer diagnosis.Meanwhile, The Masked Singer's Davina McCall recently required a brain operation to remove a colloid cyst. When asked if her friends' health scares had triggered concern for her own well-being Amanda replied: "'I'm really good at facing up to things.

I have a mammogram and my bloods checked every year. I think that you become very much aware of your own mortality when you become a parent."Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community
