A peacemaker who tried to stop a thug attacking his godson during a night out has been left blind in one eye, a court heard.
Joshua Saxton, 21, threw a volley of punches at the 40-year-old victim after he attempted to stop an argument between two groups outside a nightclub, CheshireLive reports.
Saxton hit the victim in the face, which caused him to stumble away holding his eye, Liverpool Crown Court heard. He then ran after him and punched the victim repeatedly until he fell to the floor outside the nightclub in Warrington at 2am on November 19 last year.
The victim was acting as a peacemaker and intervened when his godson was attacked by another man.
