Indiana Jones And The Great Circle’ is out next week and according to early reviews, the game more than lives up to the legacy of the films. The Great Circle is the first new Indiana Jones in over a decade and is set between the cinematic events of 1981’s Raiders Of The Lost Ark and 1989’s The Last Crusade.
Two more films have been released since the original celebrated trilogy but both 2008’s Temple Of The Crystal Skull and 2023’s Dial Of Destiny got a mixed response from fans and critics.
However, according to reviews, The Great Circle has “truly restored Indy’s legacy”.Eurogamer’s five-star review went on to praise the “marvelous locations” the main storyline takes you to and the colourful cast of characters Indy encounters on his adventure. “This is right up there with the best that Indiana Jones has ever been on either the small or silver screen.”“Like if an immersive sim got caught in a teleporter accident with Uncharted.
Some aspects of The Great Circle are weaker than others, but it joins Batman Arkham and Goldeneye in the god tier of licensed games,” wrote PC Gamer in their glowing review.“The Great Circle is an irresistible and immersive global treasure hunt for Indy fans who’ve felt underserved by the likes of The Dial Of Destiny and Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull,” reads IGN’s review. “The Great Circle immediately ranks amongst the best Indiana Jones games ever and its story is closer to Raiders Of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade than anything that’s come after.”Based on 46 reviews, Indiana Jones And The Great Circle has a Metacritic score of 86 out of 100.
