Rosario Dawson, Joan Smalls and honoree Iman joined some of New York's brightest stars at a gala to help raise support for Black business owners on Saturday night.
The Fifteen Percent Pledge Benefit Gala took place at the beautiful New York Public Library. And Just Like That actress Nicola Ari Parker hosted the event for the non-profit organization which was founded in June 2020 with the goal of narrowing the racial wealth gap.
The group's name is based on the premise that Black people make up 15 percent of the population, so they're asking businesses to donate 15 percent of their shelf space to Black owned brands.
So far, 28 companies, including Sephora, Banana Republic and Next Model Management, have come aboard as partners of the organization, which has generated almost $10 billion in revenue for Black business owners.
