Barcelona midfielder Ilkay Gundogan reportedly contacted Manchester City recently over a sensational return to the Premier League champions.
City supporters were keen to keep hold of their captain last summer after he produced a brilliant final season for the Blues as they secured the Treble.
However, the desire for a new challenge at a club close to his heart was too much for Gundogan to resist and he agreed to move to Xavi's Barcelona at the expiry of his contract.
