Audiences saw Dale, the center of the documentary, working to regain some semblance of normalcy after his 30 years in prison.
He had moved in with "Mama Carole," as he called her, and he was in the process of looking for a job. He was responsible for meeting with his parole officer weekly and had restrictions on when he could leave the house.
At the very end of the documentary, he had a job at a ranch. That was three months after his release. But in a title card after that, audiences learned that now, a year after his release, he has left the job at the ranch and is looking for another one.
