deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: Golden Globe winner Idris Elba (Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw) is set to star in action-thriller Hammer Down, which Black Bear will be launching for international sales ahead of the American Film Market next week.
Oscar winner Charles Roven (Oppenheimer, The Dark Knight trilogy) and Madison Weireter (Justice League) are producing for Atlas Entertainment, alongside Idris Elba (Luther: The Fallen Son) and Gina Carter (See How They Run) for 22 Summers.
Simon Hatt, James Gunn’s former assistant who went on to serve as co-producer on Suicide Squad and exec producer on Guardians Of The Galaxy, is directing from a screenplay that he also wrote, based on his own short.
The synopsis reads: “Mac (Idris Elba) is the best at what he does, driving a big rig truck across the country with a “no questions asked” policy about the goods he transports.
