Idris Elba’s Netflix sitcom Turn Up Charlie has reportedly been axed after just one season.The series, which was also created by Idris, starred the actor as a one-hit-wonder DJ, who is forced to become a nanny.

It premiered in March 2019 to mixed reviews and now, according to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, it has officially been canned.“Idris had hoped to get a second season rolling and was even working on new ideas but he couldn’t get it to work,” a source told the publication. “Netflix and Idris just didn’t see eye to eye on it.”The report comes after Idris opened up about his hopes for a second season of the sitcom last May.“It’s very ­exciting.
