Idris Elba might have looked confident in his Gucci bomber jacket and black trousers at The Brits but the star suffered a wardrobe malfunction on stage.

Actor Idris, who is touted as being a possible next James Bond, kept his shades on during the ceremony but suffered an awkward blunder when his jeans ripped open as he was about to make his speech.

Idris, 49, was presenting the Mastercard Album of the Year award. His interesting outfit was not in keeping with his usual smart image, but even he wasn't prepared for the moment when his flies bust apart while he walked onto the 02 Arena stage. As he geared up to present the award to Adele for her latest album, 30, his trousers had a mind of their own.Idris appeared not to notice the flash of fresh air down under as he announced Adele had won. However he strategically placed his cue cards in front of his crotch as he offered to give the Easy On Me star a hug.Eagle eyed fans noticed with one saying: "Did no one think to tell Idris Elba his flies were down before he went on stage?"Another added: "Idris Elba's flies being undone was one of the highlights of the Brits."Another volunteered: "Did Idris forget to put up his zip after using the loo?"Someone else joked: "Idris Elba trying to detract fromhis flies being undone by wearing a pink Gucci jacket. #brits."The Brits saw a few other mishaps on the night - with Anne Marie's topple down the stairs and how she styled it out becoming the most talked about moment.Others however noticed that host Mo Gilligan said at the start of the show, which has recently become gender neutral: "Hello and welcome gentlemen."
