Iconic Bombay Canteen chef Floyd Cardoz ‘dies aged 59 from coronavirus’

metro.co.ukChef Floyd Cardoz, of Bombay Canteen fame, has died aged 59 after contracting coronavirus. He had previously checked into hospital suffering symptoms, and later tested positive for Covid-19.
His family confirmed his death on Wednesday, according to Scroll, with the Mumbai-raised chef having been in India until 8 March before heading to New York.
He was the co-owner of two popular restaurants in Mumbai – the Bombay Canteen and O Pedro and had launched his third venture, the Bombay Sweet Shop.
After being admitted to hospital, The Hunger Inc, the company that runs the restaurants, put out a statement confirming Cordez had tested positive for the virus in New York.
