It has been on air for 17 years. Now its future hangs in the balance. A desperate campaign has been launched to save the much-loved community run Salford City Radio.
The station needs to cluster up a mammoth £10,000 to cover its running costs. The not-for-profit and award winning station is kept afloat by a network of more than 65 volunteers.
It relies on grants, advertising, sponsorships and fundraising efforts to keep its programming alive and accessible to local listeners.
For many of its volunteers, the station is not just a hobby but a lifeline, providing them with a sense of purpose, community and support.
