Walking past the bustling Bettys Tea Rooms in Harrogate, I decided to take a chance despite hearing tales of its notorious busyness.
My gamble was based on the assumption that post-summer holidays, it would be less crowded - and I was right. After a brief wait in the queue, I was greeted and promptly seated.
Despite dining alone, I felt at ease amongst the groups of friends and families, as this was one of the recommended spots during my visit to the North Yorkshire town.
