Many students across Greater Manchester picked up exam results today after 'some of the most difficult educational years that have ever been'.
In a mixed picture across the country the number of students achieving the top grades fell, but 19% more 18-year-olds were accepted into their first or insurance choice than in 2019.
This year marked a return to in-person exams following the coronavirus pandemic, which saw students receive results determined by teachers and based largely on their predicted grades and mock exams.
The Manchester Evening News joined students at schools across Greater Manchester to celebrate their achievements and see what is in store next for them.
