Campbell Hatton is preparing for the first title fight of his professional career. ‘The Hurricane’ did not start with a huge amateur record but did always have a wealth of experience to call upon in the shape of his father, Ricky Hatton, as well as his uncle and trainer, Matthew, who also fought for a world title.
This meant that Campbell, 23, was forced to deal with a lot more attention than most novice pros. Starting on marquee cards before moving to smaller shows, the young Hatton has been building a promising 14-0 record, including five wins last year.
It has put Campbell in the position to fight for the Central Area super lightweight title against James Flint on Saturday, and he is relishing the challenge.
